So as you can see, I have been a bit of a topshop stalker recently and I have seen ALOT of pieces that I'm sure will work my way into my wardrobe for next semester at uni. I did make a promise to myself that I would start investing in (what I think) look like better clothes for my figure rather than what's 'on trend'. So lets begin...
Starting with perhaps my favourite jeans that I think I have ever found! They are the Joni jeans. What I love about these is that it doesn't feel like your wearing jeans so you can move around freely. Also the super high waist is great for my larger hips and thighs as it means when I bend down, my jeans don't come with me! I will 100% be getting the dark blue and the black pair and then i will have to try on the paler coloured ones as the light colour might not look great on my thighs.
Since loosing a little bit of weight I have loved wearing my pale blue Joni jeans with tops ticked in to highlight my waist.
Moving on round to the right of the picture, I am slowly becoming a bit of a top collector. I go through stages of ether needing loads of bottoms(jeans/skirts etc) or loads of tops and at the moment it's tops that need a bit of a stock pile. I love pretty much all of the tops on the topshop website but these guys were e lucky ones that made it into the short list. Starting on the left, I love the contrast of the bright pattern with the black background of the top. Plus the length of the sleeve is great for me as my arms are a bit of a sore issue with me. Moving on to the red one, which is a bit of a different choice for me as I don't normally wear red but what drew me to this was the cut and shape of the top. I think I would be really flattering on the waist, tummy and arms and to bring a bit a sass to it, there is a cleavage window. And a beautiful cut out at the back. The next three tops are pretty basic. The black t-shirt and the white one are the same but in different colours. I think these ware great tees to throw on if I'm late for uni with a pair of the Joni jeans, a statement necklace and depending on what kind of a day
I have, a bright coloured stiletto or my converse. The tank is pretty self explanatory. I love this as again similar to the tees it's an easy outfit to piece together if I'm in a bit of a rush, plus the color selection is amazing! I want every color and pattern.
Moving into the dresses. I really want to start wearing more desses and skirts as I think they are more flattering for my figure than leggings (I can't believe how much I used to wear them. Eurgh!) anyway starting with the pink one. The more I look at it the more I think that it's not really for my figure. As I have broad shoulder I should stay away from halters but I still wanted to include it because its a beautiful dress! The blue one is such a cute little summer dress that also comes in white. I think the white would look beautiful if you had a lovely Summer tan. As I am ginger and like Casper the ghost I went for the blue option. Next up are the dungarees. I am yet to try one on so not entirely sure how they will look on my but I'm keeping my fingers crossed as I think they are so cute and versatile and you can basically mix and match anything to go with them! The first one is a pin stripped denim one which I think will look great with a basic tee underneath and some frilly socks and converse, and the black on will look great for a more formal look with perhaps a Peter Pan collected shirt and some pumps/brogues.
These two skirts are the comete opposite from the other but I love them! Starting with the black knee length skirt which I think will really complement my curvy figure. To be honest I think the Funfair skirt will complement my curves. I'll just have to be careful as to where the print lies on my hips and tummy as I form want to make myself look bigger than I am. Might need my Bridget Jone's pants for these I think!
The last of the clothes I ended with a blazer which I think will be a great summer to autumn transition as it is a pretty dark blue colour yet it is still light and airy. We don't need anything too heavy wearing yet (touch wood!)
As you can see I went a little crazy in the show section. To be fair some of them are just the same shoe but in different colours. Looking over the picture I think I have made my mind up over the colours. Obviously in an ideal world I would just buy tem all but as I would have to choose I would go for the pink stiletto court shoe and then the green t-bar shoe. I think that's a fair compromise!
Out of the four remaining flats, I simply couldn't chose between them! I would definetly get both of the little pumps with the strap because the different colours would be worn with different things etc. Then the loafers/brogues. I think I would perhaps got for the brown brogues and maybe invest in some loafers from russel and Bromley. Who am I kidding I'll just get them all!! I wish!
